(SMS) Beim Einfamilienhaus ist es relativ simpel: Der Abfall, der in den Tonnen landet, stammt von den Menschen, die in diesem Haus wohnen. Doch leben mehrere Parteien unter einem Dach, läßt sich mit dem herkömmlichen Tonnensystem nicht feststellen, welcher Haushalt wieviel Abfall produziert. Diese Frage kann aber eine sogenannte „Abfallschleuse“ beantworten, die jetzt von den städtischen Abfallwirtschaftsbetrieben Münster (AWM) ein halbes Jahr lang in der Hensenstraße in Gievenbeck auf ihre Alltagstauglichkeit getestet wird.
Ab Mitte Juni werden die Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner der Häuser Nummer 183 und 185 nicht nur den Mülleimer, sondern auch eine Chipkarte beim Gang zum Abfallcontainer dabei haben. Erst mit dieser Karte funktioniert die Abfallschleuse: Karte einschieben, Klappe öffnen, Abfall reinlegen, Klappe schließen, Karte rausziehen. Karte und Container sind aufeinander abgestimmt, wer keine Karte hat, kann die Klappe auch nicht öffnen.
Auf dem Chip ist - wie bei der Telefonkarte - ein Guthaben gespeichert, dessen aktueller Stand bei jeder Benutzung am Container digital angezeigt wird. So weiß jeder Haushalt, ob Single oder Großfamilie, wieviel Abfälle er produziert. Die Schleuse befindet sich auf den Behältern für Restmüll und Bioabfälle.
Der halbjährige Versuch wird wissenschaftlich begleitet durch das Labor für Abfallwirtschaft, Siedlungswasserwirtschaft und Umweltchemie (LASU) der Fachhochschule Münster. Es beobachtet, wie die Bewohner mit dem neuen System zurechtkommen, welche Schleusengröße (10, 15, 20 Liter) sich bewährt und ob das Wissen über die Abfallmengen die Nutzer zu einer besseren Abfalltrennung motiviert.
Die Wohn + Stadtbau GmbH als Eigentümerin der beiden Häuser an der Hensenstraße unterstützt das Projekt, von dem sie sich eine Verbesserung des Wohnumfeldes verspricht. So bestehen die für den Test ausgewählten Container aus umweltfreundlichem, mehrfarbigem Recyclingmaterial. Sie sind solarbetrieben und können ohne großen Aufwand fast überall eingesetzt werden. Stabilität und Bedienungsfreundlichkeit waren weitere Auswahlkriterien.
Um den Einstieg in die neue Technik zu erleichtern, standen Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter der AWM den über 60 Parteien, die am Versuch teilnehmen, zwei Tage lang zur Seite.
