In der Fotoausstellung, die 2001 mit großem Erfolg im Stadtmuseum Münster gezeigt wurde, geht es um Geschichte und Gegenwart des ehemaligen Konzentrationslagers nahe Lublin, der polnischen Partnerstadt von Münster. Eindrucksvolle Farbaufnahmen von Tomasz Samek, Fotograf im Stadtmuseum Münster, setzen sich künstlerisch mit dem Thema der massenhaften Vernichtung von Menschen während der Okkupation Polens durch die Deutschen im Zweiten Weltkrieg auseinander.
Das Ausstellungsprojekt "Mitten in Europa – Konzentrationslager Majdanek" war ein Gemeinschaftsprojekt der Gedenkstätte Majdanek mit dem Stadtmuseum Münster.
