"Münster ist deutschlandweit führend im Radverkehr", so Martina Güttler vom Stadtplanungsamt. Die Expertin für Radverkehrsplanung stellte zum Auftakt des Besuches den Studierenden in einem Vortrag konkrete Maßnahmen und Konzepte in diesem Bereich vor. Wissenswertes zum Thema "münster.mobil - Modellstadt neue Mobilität" erfuhren die Besucher aus der Pfalz von Stadtplanerin Dr. Helga Kreft-Kettermann.
Erstes Anschauungsbeispiel für die praktische Umsetzung solcher Mobilitätskonzepte war der Besuch im Verkehrsservicezentrum "mobilé" im Stadthaus I. Von der Radstation aus ging es schließlich per Leeze weiter: Besonderheiten der Ampelschaltungen eigens für Radfahrer und die Erkundung des lokalen Radwegenetzes standen im Vordergrund dieser Tour mit Verkehrsplaner Andreas Pott und Hans-Ulrich Zelke vom Tiefbauamt. Begleitet wurde die 20köpfige Gruppe der Sicherheit wegen auch von Polizeiobermeister Thomas Stallkamp. Bei einer Busfahrt unter dem Motto "Auf einer Beschleunigungsachse für den ÖPNV" konnten sich die Studierenden schließlich noch von den Vorzügen eigener Busspuren überzeugen und die Park&Ride-Anlage an der Weselerstraße besichtigen.
